General

WECIL offers Befriending Services for both Children and Adults – Children is a face to face service for disabled children and young people who would like to meet with a ‘buddy’ for a couple of hours a week so that parents/carers get a short break. The service is for disabled children and young people age 5-18 in Bristol or 0-19 in B&NES. For Adults, we offer a telephone befriending service where we can match you with someone with similar interests who will speak with you on the phone once a week for 12 weeks. WECIL primarily works in Bristol, South Gloucestershire Gloucestershire, North Somerset and B&NES, but some services such as Access audits and Training are also available outside of these areas. To find out more, Call the Navigators on 0117 9479919 or email Navigators@wecil.co.uk

WECIL offer a range of services for disabled adults and young people from Direct Payment Support, Benefits Advice, Specialist Employment Support, Services for Children and Young Disabled People, Befriending, access audits and Training for other organisations and employers – Including Disability Equality Training.

Children and Young people

We run a wide range of groups for different ages in different areas. If you are in Bristol, our Out and About Co-ordinator can discuss which services would be most suitable for you. No, you can choose which sessions to attend.

We ask for voluntary contributions of £2 for evening sessions and £5 for Saturday sessions in Bristol and £5 per session in B&NES.

We would love to get to know you first so that we can make sure we offer you the best support possible so prefer young people to attend a weekday session beforehand.

Volunteering

Employment

We run an employability course for anyone over the age of 18 who is disabled or has a long term health condition, the course is currently for 6 weeks and is delivered on line. We cover topics such as disclosing a health condition, reasonable adjustments and access to work and improving confidence.
